this section that we have tried to maximize our impact by spreading our efforts across all major dimensions in education: Informal Schools, Formal Schools, Top Business Schools, Teachers Training and Improvement of the schooling model.
The entities we have worked with so far are each playing a tremendous role for the collective good of local communities: UNICEF, TCF, HOPE, SIUT, Care n Cure, The Kidney Centre, FESF, SOS Childrens’ Villages, the Bookgroup, IBA and LUMS.
I am particularly delighted at the culture we are trying to evolve at Barclays, of volunteering, participating and giving. Our colleagues and their families invest numerous hours into community activities, ranging from spending time with the less privileged and providing them emotional strength, to financial support through Ramadan and relief work.
Now how does this fit into our business goals? Simply put, this is how we acknowledge and accept that as a commercial entity, we are as strong as the community we operate in.
And with this core belief, in 2010, we aspire to do more. With the help and support of our colleagues, community partners, clients and customers, we look forward to playing our part towards a brighter tomorrow.
